NOTE: You do not have to be from or live in Napa County to compete for Mr. Napa County since it is a FUNdraiser.
Phases of Competition
Opening Number - NOT JUDGED
Attire: Occupational Wear - Please bring an outfit you would normally wear depending on your occupation. This is pretty open ended so for example, if you are a firefighter, police officer, security guard - wear your uniform, if you work in an office - dress business casual, if you are a student - wear normal school clothes, if you are retired - wear anything you wear every day!
What you will do: When you arrive on Sunday, you will learn a quick walking opening number where the emcees will introduce you, your name, age, occupation (whatever it may be) and then you will all walk back on-stage after all introductions and wave. Really, really simple.
On-Stage Question (25%)
Attire: What you wore in Opening Number
What you will do: You will draw a random question from a bowl and have 30 seconds to answer. All of the questions will be easy and fun to answer to help the audience get to know you. This also gives the judges a chance to see your speaking skills/personality as our first Mr. titleholders.
Lifestyle and Fitness in Sportswear (25%)
Attire: Any type of sportswear and you can be as creative as you would like. Think boxing, swimming, football, basketball, soccer, golf etc. Bring props that match your sportswear for you to walk with on stage too.
What you will do: We will teach you an easy walking pattern and you will be on-stage for probably about 20-25 seconds (its quick! Same as girls in swimsuit for our pageant).
Attire: Anything that goes with your talent.
What you will do: You have 90 seconds to perform any type of talent that can be done on-stage. This can be anywhere from the traditional singing, dancing, instruments, monologues, speeches etc. all the way to hula hooping, a workout routine, juggling, cup stacking, bodybuilding - you name it!
WHAT TO BRING (VERY IMPORTANT): If you are planning on using music, please cut it to 90 seconds and either send to us as an MP3 via e-mail by May 29th OR bring 2 burned CDs with ONLY the song you will need on it. If you go over 90 seconds, only do so by no more than 5-10 seconds. If you need any help cutting music, contact us as soon as possible and we can cut it for you. Also e-mail us by May 26th, a short introduction for your talent. If we do not receive an intro, the emcees will only say "Here is NAME, doing TALENT NAME." Don't miss out on winning the audience over by having a cooler introduction than this.
Evening Wear (25%)
Attire: Your choice of business casual to formal attire including a nice pair of slacks, button down and a tie to a suit or even a tux. Please do not go out and buy an outfit and instead grab something nice in your closet to wear.
What you will do: We will teach you an easy walking pattern and you will walk at a much slower pace than lifestyle and fitness.
Then we will tally the scores and our new Mr. Napa County and Mr. Solano 2013 will be announced on-stage! Please keep in mind that this is meant to be a fun FUNdraiser and we encourage you to use whats in your closet to prepare your outfits for the show. Keep everything (including your talent) family friendly as there will be princesses in the audience too.
